Extreme events, aging materials, harsh environments, overweight vehicles, inadequate maintenance, etc. lead to accelerated structural deteriorations of bridges and structures. To mitigate the problem with limited funds, different innovative (advanced) structural repair techniques have been under development and new materials, such as Fiber Reinforced Polymers (FRP), smart/intelligent materials, high performance concrete, and high strength steels are under implementations. The success of such implementations will largely depend on our understanding of bridges/structures performance from during construction to extreme events. This symposium provides a forum for researchers, practicing engineers and structures owners to exchange ideas on improving our understanding of bridge and structures life-cycle performance.
The symposium is featured by 30 invited presentations, which provides more in-depth exchange of information. We also have received many high quality papers from the regular paper submission process. All together 171 full papers are selected from over 220 abstractModels for publication in this proceeding.
The main scope of the conference focuses on bridge structures, covering the life-cycle performance of bridges, namely from design, to construction, to service, and to extreme events. While the topic of the conference is broad, we intended to make the conference small enough to have more personal interaction for information exchange and development of friendship. We hope this will be an enjoyable meeting and a good experience for us to treasure for years to come.

摘要 碳化硅工程陶瓷具有優(yōu)異的高溫力學(xué)和化學(xué)性能而廣泛應(yīng)用于現(xiàn)代工業(yè)的 各個(gè)領(lǐng)域。固相燒結(jié)碳化硅陶瓷具有很高的機(jī)械強(qiáng)度, 且生產(chǎn)工藝簡(jiǎn)單, 一般采 用B4C+C做燒結(jié)助劑,經(jīng)常存在原料粒徑過(guò)大,分布不均,小顆粒團(tuán)聚,影響燒 結(jié)體的最終性能。 本文在前人研究的基礎(chǔ)之上,采用不同粒徑 α和β混合相粉體作為原料, B4C 為燒結(jié)助劑,水溶性酚醛樹(shù)脂作為粘結(jié)劑, 將原料在去離子水中分散, 經(jīng)過(guò)濕法 球磨制成成分均一的漿料, 并進(jìn)行噴霧造粒及干壓成型, 最后進(jìn)行無(wú)壓燒結(jié)并測(cè) 試燒結(jié)體性能。 在該過(guò)程中, 本文優(yōu)化了碳化硅混合粉體固相燒結(jié)配方; 考察了 影響最終燒結(jié)體致密度的各個(gè)因素及其作用機(jī)理,確定了各環(huán)節(jié)最優(yōu)工藝參數(shù), 并對(duì)燒結(jié)中出現(xiàn)的異?,F(xiàn)象做出解釋。 研究表明,本次試驗(yàn)所制備的漿料呈現(xiàn)剪切稀化特性, 漿料屬于非牛頓假塑 性流體;漿料粘度主要受到固相含量和 PH值的影響,本次采用粘結(jié)劑對(duì)漿料粘
